In the Studio

So today is the big day,First day of dance rehearsal in thge studio after weeks of preparation in the choreography.Boy has my girl learned a lot since she was awarded a grant by LUDUS to choreograph her own dance. First it was girly, till we realised boys can dance too. Then it was set to words until we realised that a piece of music without words lent itself better to individual interpretation. We are still thinking about props. We are slowly getting there! We've learned that simplicity is more effective so have gone full circle. This mum is learning fast!

The Journey starts here!

Well actually it started much earlier than this, probably at the age of five when my daughter took ballet lessons. At the age of twelve she knew she wanted to become a dancer. She is currently doing a GCSE in Expressive arts and wants to move on to performing arts at our local college after that. For the last four years she has danced, first at school, then at Dance Connect and is now at Dare Dance in Barrow in Furness. This is her journey, a record of her experiences, her highs and lows and the resources and links we find helpful as I, her mother (who dances like a heffalump by the way - but redeems her-self in singing) facilitate her dreams!
